Tough women's sweater made of Dutch wool and alpaca

The Aggie is a thick women's sweater made from local Dutch wool mixed with alpaca and merino. This mix of fibers gives the Aggie a unique mix of properties: the Dutch wool has a tougher appearance, which is then softened by the addition of alpaca and merino. This sweater has a high ribbed collar and raglan sleeves with ribbed details that are extra long for coziness.

The special properties of Dutch wool and alpaca

Wool from Dutch sheep is not often seen in clothing production, even within the Netherlands. Dutch wool is characterized by a tougher appearance due to its coarser fibers and hence is seen as too rough and itchy to wear against the skin. This view has led to the devaluation of Dutch wool and the disappearance of the Dutch wool industry altogether. 

In our products, we utilize this overlooked local resource by looking for varieties with a lower itch factor as well as combining our Dutch wool with other fibers like merino and alpaca. This mix of fibers allows our products to have the traditional appearance of Dutch wool while adding a level of softness.

 Choose your color and your size

You can choose from four colors for this sweater: dark blue, off white, taupe and sand. The sand and off white are the natural color of the Dutch wool and not dyed. All yarns of our synthetic colors are washed and dyed according to the GOTS standard. This means that the amount of harmful chemicals has been reduced to a minimum.

This sweater is semi-fitted, falls to the waistband and has a high collar (8 cm). In size medium, the length of the sweater (from the highest shoulder point) is 63 cm and chest width is 55 cm. The sleeve length of the Aggie is extra long and measures to be (from center back) 90 cm. If you would like the Aggie with a normal sleeve length, please mention this in the notes when ordering (we recommend 80 cm as normal sleeve length).

 Made to order

We work according to the made-to-order principle. This means that we only start producing your item after your order. The delivery time is 2-4 weeks. But we promise you: it's worth the wait. And the great thing about this: you can also specify your wishes if you want the item to be made a little shorter or longer, for example.
